Abstract
The effects of the collimating system and of the dispersion in neutron wavelength on scattered intensities are reviewed in this paper for the SANS spectrometer at the NUR research reactor. It is found that the design parameters of the spectrometer will induce in general a non-negligible smearing effect in the measured (experimental) intensities. The introduction of adequate de-smearing schemes in the data treatment step is required in order to render the experimental data useful.
