Abstract
This paper presents the LHCb trigger system with an emphasis on the use of RICH data in the software triggers. A global and a local algorithm for fast particle ID are discussed and results of performance measurements are given, which show that complex RICH pattern recognition is well within the time budget of the LHCb trigger computer farm.
