Abstract
Symmetry energy coefficients were obtained from the atomic mass evaluation Ame2003. Comparing the results for the ground states of self-conjugate even-even (T=0) and odd-odd (T=0 or T=1) nuclei indicates isospin inversion. The dependence on isospin of the symmetry energy suggests mixing of correlated T=0 and T=1 n-p pairs near N=Z from about A=76 to 96.
