Abstract
We demonstrate that the global and local constant bias can suppress spatiotemporal chaos in coupled bistable map lattice system by varying the bias strength. The results of numerical simulation present that the constant bias and the improved constant bias are suitable for not only the acousto-optic bistable map system but also the coupled bistable map lattice system. It is the best advantage that these methods do not require a priori information of system dynamics, and they can also be easily realized in many natural systems.
