Abstract
In this Letter, the modified Jacobi elliptic function expansion method is applied to solve the (2+1)-dimensional KdV equation with variable coefficients. As a consequence, abundant families of Jacobi elliptic function solutions are obtained. When the modulus mâ1, those periodic solutions degenerate as the corresponding hyperbolic function solutions.
