Abstract
Discontinuity of hyperfine fields at 57Fe nuclei in bulk iron and in aerosol Fe nanoparticles of 50 and 13±2 nm has been revealed by analysing their Mössbauer spectra taken at room and low temperatures. The observed discontinuity in hyperfine distribution of all examined specimens is supposed to be caused with a quantization of the angular momentum of 4s-like components near a Fe nucleus in the molecular field of the lattice.
