Abstract
Smaller shunt size and decreased pulmonary blood flow decrease mortality after initial palliation and increase the rate of successful transition to cavopulmonary anastomosis. Outcomes can be improved by placing smaller shunts from the innominate artery, especially in patients with any mitral regurgitation.
