Abstract
This commentary is submitted as one retired Sun executive's perspective of what Sun Microsystems was in the past, and how it evolved to its current position in the computer industry. It is offered to provide a perspective that, while business models are important, rarely can the end result of a corporate journey be attributed to any single strategy, concept, model, or decision.
