Abstract
▶ Biomass growth and phenol production are inhibited at low phenol concentrations. ▶ A membrane unit in the reactor does not affect the growth and phenol production. ▶ Phenol removal by pertraction leads to an increase in total phenol production of 132%. ▶ Decrease overall mass transfer coefficient by fouling medium components. ▶ Decrease overall mass transfer coefficient by sterilization membrane.
