Abstract
From the obtained results it appeared that children and adolescents who suffered trauma connected with a traffic accident, presented an average intensity of posttraumatic growth. 18.3% of the respondents revealed a high degree of posttraumatic growth, 42.3% - a low degree, and 39.4% - an average degree. The social support is positively linked with some of its dimensions. An instrumental support - as found in relatives - helps to improve relationships with the others, whereas an informative support - as received from teachers - increases a probability of positive changes in self-perception.
