Abstract
In the article case of thrombotic thrombocythopenic purpura in 3-year-old boy is presented, therapeutic and diagnostic problems are described. TTP is not common disease, but the diagnosis of TTP must be taken into consideration in patients with microangiopathic hemolytic anemia, thrombocythopenia, neurologic or renal abnormalities, lung and liver dysfunction. In presented case inhibitor ADAMTS13 and severe deficiency of ADAMTS 13 activity was detected and acquired TTP recognized. Patient was treated with plasma exchange, coticosteroids and azatiopryne and remission was established.
