Abstract
The article presents the current guidelines for vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV) in children and adolescents. Vaccination against human papillomavirus prevents the occurrence of precancerous lesions of the cervix, vulva and vagina, causally related to infection with certain oncogenic types of human papillomavirus. The guidelines were based on the current SPCs of the two vaccines: Silgard (MSD) and Cervarix (GSK) as well as data obtained from recent publications, and were developed by experts under the auspices of the Polish Paediatric Society. We hope that the presented scientific data will facilitate the inclusion of vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV) in children and adolescents in the vaccination program, as is the case in many countries.
