Abstract
This paper presents multidirectional view on developmental disorders. The definition of this term and its scale of range is presented. The term of auxological norm as well as methods and criteria used for interpretation of failure to thrive are discussed. Developmental disorders are usually understood as somatic development disturbances in different phases of ontogenesis - mainly in growing, sexual maturation and nourishment. The authors point however that developmental disorders refer also to psychomotor and social development.
