Abstract
Rifaximin is a semi-synthetic antibiotic, generally non-absorbable from digestive system, with wide activity to Gram (+) and Gram (â) bacterias. This antibiotic has a low risk of systemic adverse effects and tolerance similar with placebo. In Poland it has been registered to therapy of digestive system diseases caused by intestinal pathogens, travelers diarrhea and liver-encephalopathy. The medicament has much more indications for a develop-age medicine because of activity and safety, in registrated diseases and in new indications in organic and non-organic digestive diseases.
