Abstract
Components of milk fat (proteins, vitamins and minerals) regulate functions of gastrointestinal tract, the main converging place of immunological cells. The highest immune stimulating activity is demonstrated by whey proteins (lactoferrin, immune globulins) and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA). Preventive activity against intestine mucosa is shown by short and medium chain saturated fatty acids, and also lipophilic and hydrophilic antioxidants. Mineral compounds and trace elements are also important in immune stimulation process. All the milk components are characterized by high biological activity. As a consequence milk possess exceptional high immune stimulation potential, incomparable to any other component of the diet.
