Abstract
Child abuse is a social problem in Poland and around the world. The role of the doctor in the early detection of cases of child abuse, his help, as well as prevention is very important. In the current legal situation one must ask what is the actual shape of the duty doctor if the patient is a minor offense, or weighed down with some responsibility for the reporting of a crime, or - on the contrary - it is so far related to medical confidentiality, it can not be submitted any notification without risk of liability for disclosure of medical confidentiality.
