Abstract
⺠We review recent advances in molecular tools for detecting pathogens in water. ⺠Microarrays, qPCR and pyrosequencing are emerging rapidly as tools of pathogen detection. ⺠Challenges remain in applying molecular tools for waterborne pathogen detection on a routine basis.
