Abstract
⺠Bio-based production of chemicals and polymers is becoming increasingly important. ⺠Diacids, diamines and dienes can be produced by metabolically engineered microbes. ⺠Polylactic acid and spider silk proteins can be produced by engineered microbes. ⺠Systems metabolic engineering is becoming essential in strain development.
