Abstract
⺠Entire thallus having sulfated polysaccharides and blade contain more polysaccharides than other parts. ⺠Fast flow anion-exchange chromatography used for purification of sulfated polysaccharides. ⺠F2 fraction recorded high amount of sulfated polysaccharides and fucose is major type sugar present in sulfated polysaccharides. ⺠Exhibited antioxidant and in vitro anticancer activity in selected cancer cells. ⺠Involved in cell cycle arrest of different fractions in various phases of cell cycles.
