Abstract
⺠LipC is a cold-acting lipase showing a relatively low thermal resistance. ⺠A rational design system was developed to modify specific sites on the enzyme structure. ⺠A variant showing a 7-fold increase in thermo resistance could be successfully generated. ⺠A stable, cold adapted LipC bearing higher thermal stability was obtained. ⺠This is the first time a cold adapted enzyme is converted into a more thermo-resistant variant.
