Abstract
► The research succeeded in in vitro assembly of minicellulosomes on yeast cell surface. ► The decreased metabolic load was accompanied by as comparable ethanol titer as achieved through in vivo approaches. ► Results confirmed the high stability of the yeast-associated minicellulosomes.
