Abstract
► New soluble Callera Trans L lipase successfully assayed for FAMEs production. ► Cost-effective biodiesel synthesis using crude oils and a non-immobilized lipase. ► Synthesis of FAMEs more efficient in the presence of 3-5% water. ► An initial hydrolysis releases FFAs, which are further esterified to FAMEs. ► System allowing degumming plus transesterification in one-pot-reaction.
