Abstract
⺠A new lectin, named BfL, was purified from Bauhinia forficata seeds. ⺠Its hemagglutinating activity is inhibited by glycoproteins. ⺠The primary structure of BfL was determined. ⺠BfL increases the coagulation time and inhibits the platelet aggregation. ⺠BfL is the only lectin from Bauhinia that shows these properties.
