Abstract
► Enzyme laccase can degrade anthracene (ANT) in the presence of mediator. ► We used a TPPB to carry out the degradation of ANT, a poor soluble compound. ► Laccase deactivation, which depended on reaction media, occurred in two stages. ► The combined use of both surfactant and solvent led to ANT oxidation after 24 h. ► ANT oxidation model considered two mass balances for the organic and aqueous phases.
