Abstract
⺠Consolidated bioprocessing is recognized as a potential bioethanol production system. ⺠Effective biomass hydrolysis at elevated temperatures is required in the CBP. ⺠Yeast strains capable of biomass hydrolysis and ethanol production are focused. ⺠The application of yeast engineering to thermotolerant yeast strains is emphasized.
