Abstract
ⶠ(Z)-hexen-1-yl caproate is green top note flavor ester. ⶠEster yield of 90% was obtained using rapeseed lipase acetone powder (50 g/L) in hexane. ⶠCrude acetone powder can be reused at broad range of temperature (5-50 ÌC). ⶠThe highest yield of caproic acid was obtained with isoamyl alcohol (93%). ⶠRapeseed acetone powder is inexpensive alternative form of biocatalyst for OPB.
