Abstract
An organic bilayer composed of metal-free phthalocyanine (p-type semiconductor) and fullerene (n-type semiconductor) was found to be a novel photocathode working in the water phase, in which the interface of fullerene/water efficiently induced the photoreduction of FeIII(CN)63- (electron acceptor) through electron conduction by the fullerene layer.
