Abstract
The large wrong use and inadequate chemical waste management practices has become both a health and ecological problem. This is especially the case of organohalides, and among them trichloroacetic acid (TCA), that are generated from various industrial and domestic activities. The most interesting analytical approach is based on amperometry combined with the appropriate use of electrode molecular materials. The present study is aimed at demonstrating for the first time that the combined use of robust Nafion®-based material and simple stable hemin complex allows the development of a molecular material for electrode surface modification for the electrocatalytic reduction of TCA under hydrodynamic condition, without any appreciable loss of activity.
