Abstract
The middleware uses an intensive monitoring on different levels to collect the information needed for the metrics to calculate the 'quality of service provision' used to trigger the self-mechanisms. The global optimization of the system behavior is realized with local monitoring and the exchange of messages between the AMUN (Autonomic Middleware for Ubiquitous environments) nodes. The information exchange between services is based on typed messages to get a more flexible communication paradigm than those of method invocation.
