Abstract
The intention of this paper is to place in context the importance of end-user research in a time of great uncertainty about the impact of the workplace revolution on employees. It aims to anticipate what the future holds and how designers may respond accordingly. The paper focuses on a research project which examined the responses of office users to various aspects of interior environment. Conclusions refer to the value of end-user research in establishing significant environmental factors and highlights the need for designers to respond to privacy, storage and appearance of furniture in workplaces.
