Abstract
⺠We validate a teacher-report scale of task-avoidant behavior. ⺠The scale comprises one content factor and one method factor. ⺠The scale shows strict measurement invariance over time. ⺠The scale shows satisfactory convergent and discriminant validity. ⺠The scale score is negatively related to performance in both reading and mathematics.
