► This work studies of the relation between visuo-spatial working memory (WM), mental rotation and spatial text. ► That relation was tested with a mediation model; ► Results: both visuo-spatial abilities influenced the spatial text recall. ► The visuo-spatial WM mediated the relation between mental rotation and spatial text recall.
