Abstract
⺠In Over-Claiming Questionnaires (OCQs) respondents rate their familiarity with knowledge items. ⺠Some of these items exist in reality (reals), others do not (foils). ⺠We investigated the usefulness of the OCQ as a measure of cognitive abilities. ⺠Self-reported knowledge in the OCQ is positively related to measures of ability. ⺠It also reflects over-claiming to a large extent.
