Optimal location selection for an international distribution center by using a new hybrid method

► Location selection problems often involve a complex multicriteria decision process in which multiple requirements and uncertain conditions have to be taken into consideration simultaneously. ► These criteria often exist simultaneously as independent and dependent characteristics. ► This paper proposes a novel hybrid method combining the concepts of fuzzy DEMATEL and a new fuzzy MCDM method in a fuzzy environment is proposed to solve the problems of location selection. ► An empirical case of location selection can demonstrate that the proposed method is an effective means for tackling complex fuzzy MCDM problems.
