Abstract
⺠We study the problem of managing provenance of derived data in scientific research. ⺠There are significant gaps in this increasingly important area. ⺠Extensions to the CSMD model are introduced to accommodate derived data. ⺠An implementation is described to showcase the practical employment of the model. ⺠The challenges and opportunities for adopting the extended model are discussed.
