Abstract
In 2003, Wu and Chieu proposed a user-friendly remote authentication scheme with smart card. In the scheme, a user can freely choose and change his/her password. In this article, we will show a forgery attack on the Wu-Chieu scheme and propose an improvement to resist the security flaw.
