Abstract
⺠We propose an asymmetric hybrid passive optical network for next-generation applications. ⺠The network architecture use based on eight wavelength plan in each direction. ⺠The overall power budget and link loss characteristics are studied with single-mode fibers. ⺠The optical transmission feasibilities with up to 60 km distance fibers are investigated. ⺠Optical interface parameters are recommended for the principal physical layer specification.
