Abstract
This is the third part of a paper, commenced in CLSR in 2003-2004, that looked at the data protection implications of multi-application smart cards. Technical solutions were then canvassed to demonstrate that any privacy concerns could be overcome. In this final part, the authors look at the use of the card over communications networks and EU regulation of the data protection implications.
