Abstract
This article describes the psychological processes that affect crisis teams in both the private and the public sector, and describes the search for a way of combating those processes. Had the techniques outlined (Dynamic crisis management) become universal a decade ago, companies would have avoided the loss of millions of pounds in share and brand value, the UK would have avoided billions of pounds worth of damage to its economy, leaders of public sector institutions would have survived and many lives would have been saved.
