Abstract
⺠Presents a block floating point (BFP) realization of adaptive decision feedback equalizer. ⺠Suitable BFP format chosen to represent feedforward and feedback coefficient vectors. ⺠Separate update relations for the coefficient mantissa vectors and exponent derived. ⺠Overflow controlled by certain dynamic scaling of data and new upper bound on step size. ⺠Deploys mostly fixed point operations, more efficient than a FP realization
