Abstract
A novel approach to pitch estimation of speech signals using an adaptive lattice notch filter (ALNF) is proposed. Based on a good convergence property and an unbiased frequency estimate with respect to the noise variance, the pitch period is estimated using the ALNF. Simulation results have verified that the ALNF is very effective in estimating the pitch period of the given speech signal under background noise environments.
