Abstract
⺠We used a new method based on microemulsions to flood capillaries in wood. ⺠Microemulsions were formulated with anionic and anionic/nonionic surfactants. ⺠Pseudo-ternary diagrams were constructed to select formulation variables. ⺠The microemulsions were highly effective to penetrate the solid substrate. ⺠Solubilization of cell wall components is observed after impregnation.
