Abstract
► We have developed a general thermodynamic model for biomolecule surface transformations. ► The model leads to a modified law of mass action for surfaces. ► The predictive value of this thermodynamic approach is tested on typical examples. ► Featured examples include biological-inorganic flat and nanoparticle interfaces.
