Abstract
⺠Systematic comparison of different cellulose nanofibrils in multilayer formation. ⺠Nonelectrostatic interactions were decisive in build-up of cellulosic multilayers. ⺠Native, unmodified NFC was also successfully used in multilayers. ⺠The underlying cationic layer affected the interactions between NFC fibrils.
