Abstract
► Core and shell particles were prepared by dispersion and emulsifier-free emulsion polymerization. ► Heterocoagulates were fabricated by coagulation between core and shell particles. ► Surface modification was carried out by surface-initiated ATRP from heterocoagulates. ► Surface-grafted heterocoagulates were catalytically hybridized with silica. ► Hollow particles with controlled morphology were obtained by calcination of hybrids.
