Fabrication of large scale two-dimensional colloidal crystal of polystyrene particles by an interfacial self-ordering process

► An interfacial self-ordering method was used to prepare monolayer of PS spheres. ► An interfacial swelling method was used to detect the three-phase contact angle. ► TX 100 is an effective assistant reagent for the formation of the monolayer. ► Laser diffraction revealed the nearly uniform lattice orientation of the monolayer.
