Abstract
⺠Analytical solutions for the dynamics of electroosmotic penetration are provided. ⺠For horizontal microcapillaries the Lucas-Washburn equation is extended to include electroosmotic effects. ⺠A different analytical solution is obtained for the case where gravity effects come into play. ⺠The analysis can be extended to account for significant changes in the dynamic contact angle.
