Abstract
⺠Azobenzene-derived cationic surfactant (AzoC6Mim) is synthesized. ⺠Cationic surfactant AzoC6Mim can be used to compact salmon sperm DNA. ⺠AzoC6Mim/DNA complexation can be regulated by light or host-guest interaction.
