Abstract
⺠Montmorillonite is a good adsorbent for diphenhydramine (DPH) in aqueous solution. ⺠Cation exchange is the dominant mechanism for DPH adsorption. ⺠At high adsorption DPH intercalated into the interlayer of montmorillonite. ⺠Adsorption of DPH resulted in interlayer dehydration of montmorillonite.
