Abstract
⺠A physicochemically relevant description of the constant, β, in the Equation of State (EOS) for interfacial tension is presented. ⺠The semi-empirical Eq. (3)is based on EOS assumptions and fundamental concepts from Classical Nucleation theory (CNT). ⺠The derivation proceeds from Eq. (3) and Eq. (9), to provide more detail on β. ⺠Both Eq. (3) and Eq. (9) are validated using data from the literature.
